Our Story
From Ellie’s Gift to Ellie’s Rainbow: A Story of Love, Loss, and Hope
Ellie’s Rainbow evolved from the same heart-felt mission as Ellie’s Gift - a space created by bereaved parents, for bereaved parents.
Ellie’s story is one of love. Her parents Lucy & Rick founded Ellie’s Gift in her memory, offering a mobile app and digital support to those navigating the devastating pain of baby loss. Over time, it became a place of comfort, with resources, accessible support services, and a compassionate community providing comfort, support and understanding.
But for some, the journey doesn’t end with loss - it also leads to new beginnings. Many parents who once turned to Ellie’s Gift for support later found themselves pregnant again, embarking on a new chapter filled with a mixture of hope, fear, and uncertainty. They shared our first-hand experience of how difficult this journey was. Being in spaces solely focused on grief often heightened their anxieties, while discussing their pregnancy openly could be painful for others still grieving.
We recognise that pregnancy after loss can be a deeply emotional and sometimes isolating experience. Just as seeing pregnancy can be triggering for those who are grieving, being surrounded by loss while carrying a new life can also feel overwhelming.
This is why Ellie’s Rainbow was created. It is a separate space specifically for parents navigating “pregnancy after loss” - a place where you can be supported without fear of upsetting others, and most of all, where your worries, hopes, and fears are understood.
Here, you can honour the past while embracing the future. Ellie’s Rainbow is where you can share, connect, and find strength, knowing that you don’t have to walk this journey alone.
🌈 For every rainbow, there is a story of strength. We’re here to walk beside you.
